Philippe RaffnerArchitectural Designer
MArch (Prof), South African Registered Architect
Philippe is a South African Architect with French/Mediterranean heritage and a lifelong passion for residential design. Originally from Johannesburg, he studied his MArch (Prof) at the University of the Witwatersrand, where he was heavily influenced by the School of Architecture’s proud Modernist heritage. After completing his two-year long candidacy and registering as a Professional Architect in 2014, he relocated and spent most of his early career living and working between the mountains and beaches of Cape Town. There he had the opportunity to work at an internationally lauded firm and was team lead on many international, luxury residential and mixed-use projects in a variety of locations, both locally and abroad. From 2018-2021, Philippe managed a small bespoke architectural design office in Cape Town and Hermanus, focussed on delivering boutique commercial and residential projects of the highest standard. Ultimately, Philippe would succumb to the call of adventure and move to the United Kingdom, where he continues to apply and refine his crafting of space and form in the built environment. As a lover of family and exercise in equal measure, Philippe can be found spending his free time in the gym, when not doting on his young niece in the West Sussex countryside.
